Projects Update: A Raspberry Pi based Autonomous Car

I was assigned the task within one of my UCF classes (Topics in Computer Science) to find a research paper, write a report and create a 20 minute presentation on the topic.

On November 3rd, 2015,I presented a presentation titled: “A Raspberry Pi based Autonomous Car”

In it, I discussed the implementation of a Raspberry Pi used in conjunction with a car (assumed to be an very small form factored car) in order to perform autonomous driving. This includes detecting the road, and to drive along it automatically avoiding any obstacles along the way.

Projects Update: EV Charging & Load Shedding

On October 10th, 2015, I was assigned the task within one of my UCF classes (Topics in Computer Science) to find a research paper, write a report and create a 20 minute presentation on the topic.

The title of my presentation and report was: “Electric Vehicle Charging and Load Shedding”

In it, I discuss what load shedding is, the reasoning behind it, difficulties of implementing Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers and how the paper I researched utilizes Model Predictive Control (MPC) and Linear Programming (LP) to create a Control Horizon method, that can allow for a scalable set of EV chargers to perform without increasing peak load and to perform load shedding.
